Sustainable development has been defined as "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs" (Our Common Future, Brundtland 1987).

For mining companies this means that investments in minerals projects should be financially profitable, technically appropriate, environmentally sound and socially responsible.
As a signatory to the “Enduring Value” framework, Perseverance is committed to the integration of economic progress, responsible social development and effective environmental management, contributing to the sustained growth and prosperity of current and future generations.
